In this month of gratitude, we would like to thank our partners for a shared commitment to elevating the health of communities through healthy eating patterns. November offers an important opportunity to raise awareness about diabetes and highlight resources that support nutrition solutions and prevention strategies.
Nutrition insecurity or limited access to nutritious foods is one factor that contributes to the risk of developing chronic conditions, including type 2 diabetes. Nutrient-rich dairy foods are affordable, available through federal nutrition programs and support nutrition security by providing essential nutrients that promote health and help reduce risk for chronic conditions.
In fact, yogurt has an FDA approved qualified health claim indicating that it may help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, offering health professionals added confidence in its role within healthy eating patterns.
