Sonia is the Let’s Eat Healthy Program Manager and leads the activation and advancement of the Let’s Eat Healthy Initiative.
Sonia Fernandez Arana serves as a Program Manager at Dairy Council of California, where she leads the activation of statewide initiatives designed to empower healthier children, families, and communities through multi-sector collaboration.
With over 18 years of experience in community health, Sonia brings deep expertise in strategic partnerships, program development, and capacity-building initiatives that advance equitable health outcomes. She builds, implements, and evaluates organizational strategic initiatives and develops statewide frameworks that support systems-level change mobilizing partners through shared values.
Sonia’s expertise in grant management aids in the expansion of partnerships and placement of organizational resources to underserved communities proving measurable impact. As a nutrition and education expert, she is committed to advancing community-driven solutions that improve health outcomes and maintains strong partnerships across community and school environments, working closely with school nutrition professionals, school wellness and community health leaders.
Sonia earned a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from National University, Sacramento and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science with an emphasis in General Dietetics from California State University, Chico.
