Alyssa McClelland serves as the Initiatives & Engagement Director at Dairy Council of California, bringing more than 20 years of experience in school nutrition, community health, and partnership development. As an experienced change maker, she has advanced nutrition, learning, and well-being for children, families, and communities through initiatives spanning education, school nutrition environments, and broader community settings.
Alyssa is an active leader in the CA Local School Wellness Policy Collaborative, and local Positive Behavior Intervention and School Site Councils. She has extensive experience building strong regional, state, and local partnerships with education leaders, health care professionals, nonprofit organizations, public health agencies, and community-based partners. Her work is grounded in equity, nutrition security, and supports diverse communities across California.
Alongside the state’s dairy community, Alyssa is committed to increasing awareness and access to healthy eating, physical activity, and nutrition education. She is passionate about empowering youth as the next generation of wellness advocates and works collaboratively across sectors to bring evidence-based, community-informed initiatives to life.
Alyssa earned a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Services from California State University, Fresno.
