Explore Nutrition for Ages 9-11

The Explore Nutrition Lesson Workbook for ages 9–11 helps students explore food, health, and nutrition through hands-on activities, readings, discussions, and reflection. 

    Students investigate questions such as: 

    • What can food groups teach us about healthy eating?  
    • How do foods work together in a meal?  
    • What can food labels tell us?  
    • How do you know if nutrition information is reliable?  
    • How does food change from the farm to you?  
    • How does nutrition impact gut health?  

    Designed to accompany the Lesson Guide and Learn & Do Slides, Explore Nutrition supports inquiry-based learning in classrooms and community education settings.

    Aligned to 4th and 5th grade CA core standards, this unit offers relevant, credible, and engaging nutrition education for students ages 9–11. Available in English or Spanish as a printed workbook or digital download. 

    Digital workbooks are available now for download. Printed workbooks will ship in late October.
