Meet staff member, Kimberlee McLaughlin. For more than a decade, Kimberlee McLaughlin has served as a Mobile Dairy Classroom Instructor, teaching in communities across the Sacramento Valley. In this role, she shares her love for agriculture by teaching where food comes from, how to eat healthfully and the value of nutrient-dense foods like milk and dairy in healthy, daily eating patterns.

Seeing children light up with excitement as they learn something new is very rewarding to Kimberlee and fuels her enthusiasm for the important work she does. By providing children with a unique experience of seeing and interacting with a real cow—a first for many—she is able to offer an educational lesson they will never forget. She is proud to teach ag literacy, healthy eating patterns and the value for wholesome, nutrient-dense foods like milk and dairy as the cornerstone of healthy eating. She believes experiential learning is an excellent means to improve knowledge and promote healthy eating for students and teachers.

Kimberlee grew up on an orchard and was raised in an agricultural community. In her formative years, she was an active member of 4-H and Future Farmers of America, which deepened her love of animals and sparked appreciation for the different aspects of farming and ranching. She saw firsthand how hard ranchers and farmers work to care for their animals, which fostered gratitude for their tireless commitment to providing high-quality, wholesome foods. These experiences drive her passion for agriculture and commitment to teaching ag literacy. She believes in the work Mobile Dairy Classroom is doing to teach and inspire future generations so they can truly appreciate and make informed decisions to consume healthy, wholesome foods and build a foundation for good health.

Kimberlee earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in agriculture education from California State University, Fresno.
