Dairy Council of California program booklets and online nutrition education programs
are field-tested and evaluated for positive outcomes with adult learners. Our goal
is to provide high-quality, evidence-based programs through content targeted toward
the needs of clients to enhance their knowledge of healthy eating using all USDA
MyPyramid food groups, to encourage being physically active and to make healthier
food and activity choices. Materials can be used as part of a behavior-change program
or to help adults with maintenance of new behaviors. Health professionals in health
care settings or employee wellness programs traditionally use these materials as
self-study booklets, as part of group education or for one-on-one client counseling
sessions.
Each program is evaluated during and post-development, followed by outcome evaluations
conducted by third-party evaluators. We use a mixed-method approach to capture qualitative
feedback from health professionals combined with quantitative surveys from end users
such as clients and employees. Each evaluation is tailored to the program to ensure
the best data are available for program development and to demonstrate success in
meeting program outcomes.
