outside California may purchase the materials.

Who is eligible to order free materials?
- California classroom teachers for kindergarten - fifth grades are eligible to order
our materials. Click here to learn more about ordering
materials from outside California.
- Middle school teachers - grades 6th, 7th or 8th within one department (i.e. PE,
Health, Science, Home Economics) may order the middle school program, Exercise
Your Options. We do not have enough resources to place our middle school
program at each grade level and multiple departments in middle school, thus the
program is placed in 6th, 7th or 8th grade in a given district or school. If you
are not eligible to order the program, please check our
Download page for handouts that may be useful in your classroom.
- We are not able to offer the middle school program Exercise Your Options
in 6th grade classrooms in K-6 schools. If you are a 6th grade teacher in a K-6
school, please check our Download page for handouts
that may be useful in your classroom.
- We offer our materials to special education teachers only if the students they teach
are operating close to grade level. For example, we do not offer our elementary
school programs to high school or middle school students since the nutrition information
is not correct for their age group.
- Principals and school nurses can order two of our programs designed for parents
by using our
online order form or calling our toll free number 877.324.7901.

nutrition, students will be practicing essential skills in reading, writing and
mathematics.

I have ordered your materials for my classroom and would like someone to review
them with me. Does your organization do this?

or school site level. In these workshops we review our nutrition education materials
with you in order to help you be successful in teaching the programs. To set up
a workshop, just e-mail us or call your local Dairy Council office, and a representative
will contact you to set up a time and location that is most convenient for you.

Who develops your materials? How do I know that they are not just pushing milk?
Dairy Council of California nutrition education programs are developed by Dairy
Council staff with qualifications in nutrition, research and the education fields.
The programs are field tested to ensure success and then are reviewed by external
nutrition experts and practitioners to ensure the accuracy and objectivity of the
information. The programs are based on the USDA MyPyramid and do not promote milk
more than any other food group.
